The Library accepts donations of books or DVDs. The Library does not accept donations of magazines, newspapers, or ephemera. There can be no strings attached to a donation. The Library does not arrange for the pick-up of donations. Donations must be delivered to the Library by the donor during regular library hours. Staff should thank all donors when the donation is dropped off regardless of the item. If a person drops off materials the Library does not accept as donations, simply accept the material and say thank you.
Acceptance of a donation does not imply that the item will be incorporated into the Library’s collection. Any item added to the collection must meet the guidelines provided in the Board-approved Collection Development Policy. The Campus Librarian or Dean of Learning Resources will make the determination whether to add a donated item to the collection or not.
A list of donated items may be provided to the donor but values cannot be assigned to the items by any member of the Library or College staff.
