How to Become an SJR State Library User

Current SJR State students and employees are automatically granted access to the resources and services of SJR State's Learning Resources department, including the Library, and have full access to available resources. No application is required. Students and employees use their College credentials to access online resources and must show a photo ID to check out resources from the Library.

Access to the services and resources housed within each functional area of Learning Resources varies by user group. Variations in access by user group are due to licensing restrictions, state legislative mandates, contractual agreements with vendors or cooperatives, and College policies dictating the use of computers, networks, and other resources. Users who are not authorized to access the SJR State Library’s digital resources are able to access the Florida Electronic Library (FEL) and its associated subscription content from any computer located within the state of Florida. SJR State Librarians can assist users needing access to the FEL.

Community patrons and SJR State Retirees are welcome to use the SJR State Library facility and use some Library resources as indicated above and in the the Learning Resources Access PolicyAn application must be submitted online or in-person (copies are available at the Circulation Desk). Verification of residency documentation for online applicants will be made at the user's first library visit. Community patrons must present a photo ID with a Clay, Putnam, or St. Johns County address to check out resources from the Library. SJR State does not issue library cards.
