FREE COUNSELING FOR SJR STATE STUDENTS

Attending college online during a global pandemic can be stressful and leave you feeling sad and isolated. Many students find it helpful to be able to talk with an objective and non-judgmental individual. At SJR State, we have a CARE Counselor who is available to meet and talk with SJR State students. His name is Dr. Lobo and you can speak with him for free about a variety of issues thanks to SJR State CARES.

Dr. Lobo is a licensed mental health counselor and he can meet with you via phone, videoconference, or face-to-face (with face coverings). You can talk to him about anything that is bothering you, stressing you out, getting you down, or just making it hard to deal with school. Many students find that after one or two appointments they are able to vent, get valuable feedback, and learn new strategies and techniques to better manage stress and anxiety, improve their mood, and develop a healthier perspective and outlook.

If you would like to talk with Dr. Lobo you can contact him by email at douglasslobo@sjrstate.edu or by phone at (386) 312-4305. No matter how you connect with Dr. Lobo, speaking with him is a confidential and free service that is available to all SJR State students.
