Part-time Library Assistants are trained by the campus supervisor and designated staff members as noted below. Much of the training occurs online. The campus supervisor will determine the order in which new library assistants complete the training listed below.

The Shift Lead completes all of the training required of a part-time Library Assistant. Due to the Alma user role required for this position, the Shift Lead must be Alma and Primo VE Administrator Certified. The campus supervisor will determine the date by which these certifications must be earned based upon the employee's start date and previous Alma training.

To begin certification training, register yourself at the Ex Libris Academy. When searching for our organization, it will return 2 results. Click St. Johns River State College as shown below.
Once you register and sign in, you will see this screen -
First, go through the Alma Administration Certification learning materials (1. above). When you are done, click Register for Certification and take the exam. Send the certificate to the Dean via email.
After you are Alma Administration Certified, go through the Primo VE Administration Certification learning materials (2. above). When you are done, click Register for Certification and take the exam. Send the certificate to the Dean via email.
Be sure to bookmark the Ex Libris Academy site. You will not be able to complete all of this training in one day, so you will need to go back to Ex Libris Academy several times.
Tutors are trained by the Academic Support Coordinator. The ASC will determine the order in which new tutors complete the training listed below.
