What We're Doing to Keep You and Our Staff Safe from COVID-19

The SJR State Library is following CDC guidelines including the Considerations for Institutions of Higher Education. Therefore, 

  • Access to the Library and Academic Support Center (ASC) is granted by appointment only and only for select services. 
    • ‚ÄčAppointments may be booked online by current SJR State students & employees only.
    • Appointments are for individuals only (no groups). 
  • The Library and ASC are operating at a reduced capacity and have social distancing measures in place.
  • Masks must be worn by all persons while on campus and in all communal areas including the Library & the ASC. In-person service will be denied to persons not wearing a mask. Online services will be arranged for students who cannot wear a mask.
  • All persons must complete the College's Health Assessment before coming to campus. Please have your green checkmark ready to show.
  • All Library material must be returned at a drop box. Do not bring returns to the Library. 
  • Returned Library material is isolated for 96 hours before being handled by staff and reshelved in keeping with findings by the Institute of Museum & Library Services.
    • There will be a delay of at least 4 days from the time you place material in the drop-box to the time that material is then handled by staff, checked-in, and removed from your account.
    • The Library does not charge daily overdue fines and your access to services will not be impacted due to recently overdue items. (If you have material that was 6 weeks overdue before March 13, 2020, that obligation is already on your record. Contact your campus Library for details.) 
  • Computers and high-touch surfaces are routinely disinfected.
