American Sign Language

Children songs with American sign language that mothers can sing to their infants.

Includes A Pocket for Corduroy (Corduroy goes on an adventure through the Laundromat in search of the one thing he thinks he is missing, a pocket); Blue Burt and Wiggles (two best friends try to make the summer last forever); and Big Al (Big Al wants to make friends, but all of the other fish are afraid of him, until one day he proves what a great friend he can be). A comic, a drummer, an actor, and a singer, who are all well-known entertainers in the deaf community, are followed as they attempt to cross over to mainstream audiences. These uniquely talented entertainers overcome great challenges to celebrate success.

Adrian Blue signs each story exactly as depicted in the book as the full text of each story is displayed. Then Janiah Mitchell, a student at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Philadelphia, signs all of the stories again with her own interpretation.

Allows viewers to access signs and some video chips of more than 1,400 words and 40 basic handshapes. Shows how each sign is formed from beginning to end. Each sign also includes a complete list of English glosses and synonyms from the Handshape dictionary for reference.

Teaches American Sign Language through the daily activities of the Bravo family.
