Kanopy Streaming Video - Effective April 1, 2021

Kanopy logoOver 26,000 films & instructional videos on most subjects and from leading producers such as Criterion Collection, The Great Courses, New Day Films, HBO California Newsreel, Kino Lorber, PBS, BBC, First Run Features, The Video Project, Media Education Foundation, Documentary Education Resources.


For general access, go to If you are prompted, sign in with your MySJRstate username & password. If you register for a personal account, you can access Kanopy on any device or via your TV's streaming services.  


Only licensed titles are available for viewing. If you need access to a film in Kanopy, contact Christina so she can license the film ( or x4152).  


$150 for 1 year of unlimited access. Perpetual rights are available for some films for a higher price. If you plan to show a film forever, let Christina know. 


Videos on Kanopy include public performance rights that allow them to be used in the educational setting. 


Videos are closed captioned and transcripts are provided.

Canvas Integration

Using the tools in Kanopy, faculty can embed films from Kanopy directly into Canvas or can link to a film in Kanopy. A librarian can help you connect your students to a film in Kanopy.
