Kanopy Streaming Video
Over 26,000 films & instructional videos on most subjects and from leading producers such as Criterion Collection, The Great Courses, New Day Films, HBO California Newsreel, Kino Lorber, PBS, BBC, First Run Features, The Video Project, Media Education Foundation, Documentary Education Resources.
Access
For general access, go to learningresources.sjrstate.edu/KanopyStreaming If you are prompted, sign in with your MySJRstate username & password. If you register for a personal account, you can access Kanopy on any device or via your TV's streaming services.
Licensing
Only licensed titles are available for viewing (over 10,000). If you need access to a film in Kanopy that isn't currently available to view, contact Christina so she can license the film (christinawill@sjrstate.edu or x4152).
Cost
$150 for 1 year of unlimited access. Perpetual rights are available for some films for a higher price. If you plan to show a film forever, let Christina know.
Terms
Videos on Kanopy include public performance rights that allow them to be used in the educational setting.
Accessibility
Videos are closed captioned and transcripts are provided.
Canvas Integration
Using the tools in Kanopy, faculty can embed films from Kanopy directly into Canvas or can link to a film in Kanopy. A librarian can help you connect your students to a film in Kanopy.
